Spiders Must Go

First, I would like to go on record and say that I have a fairly clean house. Unfortunately, it appears that spiders love my home. I really don’t want to share a house with the nasty little buggers and was wondering if you have any suggestions?

Many people believe that the spider population increases in the summer and fall, however it is more likely that the spiders are just growing bigger and easier to see at this time of the year. Spiders are especially difficult to eliminate from an area and they aren’t all attracted to the same things. Some like dry and dark areas and others prefer it damp. Cleanliness doesn’t appear to have much impact on where they choose to abide, so do not feel like their presence in your home reflects poor housekeeping. Beyond professional intervention, sticky sheets (though they are yucky to dispose of) and cat nip may be your best bets. Try to keep your home free of other insects to limit the food availability and remove all webs and egg sacs when they are found. Otherwise, you may want to keep a shoe handy to deal with the ones that just will not go away.
