Barbara Jo Hatmaker McCoig obituary 06222013BARBARA JO HATMAKER MCCOIG, age 72, of Talbott, TN and formerly of Jefferson City, TN, passed away suddenly on Friday morning, June 21, 2013 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital. She was a member of George Street United Methodist Church and worked as a legal secretary for many years. Preceded in death by husband, Clark McCoig; parents, Ruby and Carl Groseclose, Jack and Audrey Hatmaker; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Marshall and Myrtle McCoig. She is survived by daughters, Sherry Howard and husband Kenny, Allison Wilson and husband Jerome; grandson, Colt Howard; granddaughter, Kennetha Turley; great-grandchildren, Josh and Madison Turley; brother and sister-in-law, Billy and Barbara Hatmaker; sister, Jackie Carrigan; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Maxine McCoig, Garland and Lois McCoig, Marjorie Martin, Helen Faye and Tom White; aunts and uncles, Ray and Bobbie Baker, and Helen Baker; several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends; her special church family; and her special cat “Blu.”. As was her desire, she was an organ donor. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to George Street United Methodist Church, 1340 George Avenue, Jefferson City, TN 37760. Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday, June 24, 2013 at Farrar Funeral Home with Rev. Ray Petty officiating. Receiving of friends will be from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. prior to the service.
