Where To Tie The Knot

I am getting married in October and am looking for a venue for our wedding and reception. I would like to stay inside Jefferson County, rather than traveling to Gatlinburg. Do you have any suggestions?

There are several places in the County that could be appropriate, depending on the size and needs for the reception. I am assuming that you are not looking for a church because there are obviously a multitude of them in a variety of sizes and locations across the County. In Jefferson City, Glenmore Mansion is an option and in Dandridge, Old Shepard Inn is now doing weddings and receptions. If you are looking for something outside the City, the Havely Farm across the street from Mount Horeb Elementary School is nice and the Minnis House in New Market could host a small affair. Mountain Harbor Inn is a lake location and The Point offers two choices-a lawn event or Lakeside @ The Point is a lovely location for a directly on the water venue. Of course these are only a few options and I am sure that there are others. It is important to consider your reception catering and numbers when picking a venue. Though there are several sites for a wedding in the County, the number that offer on site catering are limited so be prepared to locate catering if it is not offered at the location. Some of the sites have package deals that can include everything from catering and flowers to actually performing the wedding ceremony. Good luck and happy hunting!
