Sevier County Woman Arrested on Murder Charges

A Sevier County woman has been arrested in connection with the shooting death of her husband that occurred on Jan. 30th 2013 on Estates Drive in Seymour. According to Sevier County Sheriff Ron Seals, on Jan., 30, officers received a 911 call from 1449 Estates Drive from a male caller stating that he had been shot. Officers arrived and found Donald S. Gregory, age 64, dead from multiple gunshot wounds.

While officers were responding to the call Bilinda M. Gregory walked into the sheriff’s office with two handguns and stated that she had shot her husband but claimed it was in self-defense. An investigation was launched by the Sevier County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Inv. Division and the Tenn. Bureau of Investigation. The investigation had been ongoing since that time and on Friday evening July 5th an incriminating statement was obtained by Sheriff’s Dept. Detectives from Bilinda Gregory and she was subsequently charged with 1st degree murder by the SCSO Detectives.

Gregory was booked into Sevier County Jail and is being held pending a bond hearing in General Sessions Court.
