On Saturday, July 27, 2013, hundreds of people turned out early for the 8 AM 22nd Annual Walk to Remember, which is the ALPS Adult Day Services largest fundraiser of the year.

Licensed by the State of Tennessee and a recipient of United Way funding from Hamblen and Jefferson counties, ALPS Adult Day Services provides a homelike setting for adults who should not be left alone during the day. They have a sliding income scale for the attendance cost of the center.

At this walk everyone who entered was a winner because they attended! It was a wonderful 2 mile walk, run or stroll, with every age in attendance along with a few canine friends. The show started with a silent auction of donated baskets, followed by the walk.

The Morristown Police Department led the way, followed by Grand Marshal Bob Mitchell. The Lakeway Amateur Radio Club was of great assistance, posting throughout the course to keep an eye out for any signs of distress.

The event finished off with cereal bars and water, a magician who created fun balloons and the most amazing goodie bag with tons of treats inside. There were many awards given for the most donations among other things and, the center raised a wonderful total of over $37,000!
