ONE MILE COMPETITIVE RUN SET FOR SEPTEMBER 28TH IN DANDRIDGE

Runners of All Ages are Invited to Join the Fun

August, 2013 – Runners of all ages are invited to participate in the second annual ‘Douglas Dash.’ This one mile race, co-sponsored by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Dumplin Valley and the Dandridge Community Trust (Main Street Dandridge) features beautiful views of Douglas Lake, English Mountain, and historic downtown Dandridge.

Douglas Dash 200 08272013Race day schedule includes registration from 7:30am – 8:45am, followed by the race at 9:00am, and concluding with the awards ceremony at 10:00am. Cash awards will be presented to the top male and female finishers. Additional awards will be given to the top three finishers in each of 18 age/gender divisions

“For the 2nd year Main Street Dandridge is partnering with the Boys & Girls Club for this wonderful community event,” said Tina Murrow, Executive Director of Main Street Dandridge. “Such an event brings runners of all ages, from all parts of east Tennessee, to compete in a fun race that promotes health and fitness. The beautiful lake and mountain views are a bonus to the runners.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION

Pre-registration through September 13th

  • Adults (ages 13 & up) -$20
  • Children (ages 6-12)  -$15

(Pre-registered runners will receive t-shirt on race day; others while supplies last)

Registration after September 13th

  • Adults – $25

Pre-registration can be done on line atwww.mainstreetdandridge.com/DouglasDash2013.html or by mail. Checks should be made payable to “DCT” and mailed to: Dandridge Community Trust, PO Box 1382, Dandridge, TN 37725.

All proceeds from the Douglas Dash will go to the sponsoring organizations. Both of these non- profit groups work to enhance the quality of life in Jefferson County.

Race competitors and their families are invited to stay for the 7th annual Scots-Irish Festival, held in Dandridge on the same day.
