Combine fine art & crafts, a gorgeous mountain backdrop, diversity in creativity from across the nation and what do you have?  The Ninth Annual Gatlinburg Fine Arts Festival at Arrowmont, set at the base of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, this event showcases artists at the top of their fields.  Participating exhibitors are chosen by jury in 16 categories ranging from ceramics and glass to watercolor and woodworking.  For artists, the festival is a prestige event, for visitors, it’s a guaranteed opportunity to enjoy the best in fine art & crafts, a fantastic free children activity program, listening to Appalachian  music, enjoy Southern BBQ, and gaze at the nearby mountains. The festival features 55 artists, and over 130 hours of craft demonstrations. The 2013 three-day event held on the next to the campus of Arrowmont School of Arts & Craft October 4-5 & 6, 2013  A special “Night with the Artists Party” will be held on Saturday evening Oct. 5th staring at 6 pm which will be held at the Arrowmont administration building. Robert Tino will be presented the “2013 Gatlinburg Fine Arts Festival at Arrowmont Achievement Award” at the event. This is a perfect time to visit the “burg” famously nestled at the foot of the majestic Great Smoky Mountains as the mountains begin to color.
