Robert Tino to be honored at the Gatlinburg Fine Arts Festival at Arrowmont “The Night with the Artist Party”, Oct 5, 2013

Robert Tino 09172013Robert A. Tino has interpreted the landscape of the Great Smoky Mountains with an eye for nearly twenty years. Whether the medium is watercolor or oil, Robert preserves his personal experience of the mountains with each scene in remarkable detail, while exploring his characteristic affinity for flourishes of color, depth and texture. Since his first limited edition work issued in the early 1980’s while still a student at the University of Tennessee, Robert emerged as one of the most gifted and celebrated artists in the South. Robert and his wife, Mary John, are very involved in the community, having worked for many years to raise funds for East Tennessee Children’s Hospital, St. Mary’s Hospital as well as Friends of the Great Smoky Mountains. The award will be presented at the “Night with the Artist Party” at Arrowmont School of Arts & Crafts on October 5th @ 6 PM for $50 a person. Tickets are available by calling Stan or Chris Johnson @ 436-7484.
