Wishing All Good Luck

editorial-logo3With the coming of March, Jefferson County is becoming steeped in the political process and it appears that the minutes are rushing toward May 6, 2014. And, that will be only the beginning of several more months of politicking and decision making. We will all be making out our Thanksgiving menus and starting to think about Holiday shopping before the last vote is cast and counted. For the better part of 2014 politics will rule the news and many conversations at the dinner table. While it is much the same in the office of the Jefferson County Post, our thrust every day, and every political season, is to bring the news to our readers in an unbiased manner. We, at The Post, believe in the political process and encourage every eligible person to vote his conscious. And to that end, we cannot stress enough that we do not endorse any political candidate. We are certain that our readers can and will come to a decision regarding candidates on their own accord and have no desire or intent to try and influence any political race. Candidates do and will advertise in The Post and we are certainly appreciative of their business, just as we are all of our advertisers. Unlike many other publications, we have the capability of rotating advertisements and do so often. The location of a candidate’s ad is not an intentional or unintentional endorsement on the part of The Post. Advertising is the business part of The Post and does not influence the content. Likewise, we will not hold the news to provide political balance. Incumbents in political offices have the benefit and sometimes the negative of being in the eye of the press. That is the way the news works and it would be a disservice to readers to not report the happenings in the County as they occur. Again, this is not an endorsement of a political candidate. It is simply the news.

Like other residents in Jefferson County, the photographers and reporters of The Post will likely have their own preferences of candidates, however these are personal and should not be confused with professional endorsement of The Jefferson County Post. We look forward to bringing our readers coverage during this political season and beyond and look forward to watching and reporting the process as it unfolds.
