Republican Women Hosting Breakfast & Candidate Forum, April 12, 2014

Red to the RootsThe Jefferson County Republican Women and the Republican Women of the Future are set to host a ‘Breakfast & Candidate Forum’ on April 12th for voters to meet and hear from the Republican candidates in the upcoming 2014 primary and election races. The event will be held at the Jefferson County Rescue Squad Building located at 915 Industrial Park Rd. in Dandridge.

A meal of pancakes, sausage, coffee and juice will begin at 8:00 am. Breakfast will be followed by a forum featuring candidates in the upcoming Republican primaries slated to begin at approximately 9:30 am and continue until all candidates have had an opportunity to address the crowd. Admission is $5.00 per person to cover the cost of the meals and event space.

There are currently four contested local races in the May Republican primary, including the offices of county court clerk, county mayor, sheriff, and trustee”, notes Tamra Fain, president of the Jefferson County Republican Women. “We anticipate that candidates for these four races, along with candidates in several other uncontested primary races, will be on hand to meet with voters and answer questions.”

The local party and women’s clubs have adopted and are continuing to build on the Tennessee Republican Party’s 2014 initiative and keep Jefferson County Red to the Roots, electing Republican leaders from the courthouse to the capitol. Voters are encouraged to visit the Jefferson County Republican Party’s Facebook group to find links to candidates’ campaign pages for the upcoming 2014 races.

Early voting for the May Republican primary begins on April 16th with the primary taking place on May 6th.
