Walters State Community Band Spring Concert, April 13, 2014

Walters State logo 450The Walters State Community Band will present a spring concert at 3 p.m. April 13 in the “Z” Buda Assembly Hall and Gymnasium on the Morristown campus. Admission is free.

The band is comprised of both Walters State students and area musicians who love music. The band also includes a few outstanding high school students and several area band directors. Tom Shupe and Greg Woodruff conduct the band.

This year’s concert features a variety of music, beginning with “The Star Spangled Banner,” “Symphonic Dance #3,” “Vanished Army,” and the “Battle Hymn of the Republic.” The show will conclude with  “Carmina Burana,” “El Capitan,” “Hollywood Milestones” and a salute to the music of Count Basie.
