Patriot Academy Gets International Flair

Jefferson County High School Patriot Academy played host to two dozen international students last week. University of Tennessee’s Center for Sport, Peace and Society was the organizer of the visit to the school. The Center is a part of University of Tennessee’s Department of Education, Health and Human Sciences and is dedicated to the belief that sports can be used to promote cultural understanding, as well as individual and community development. The visiting students were welcomed by the faculty, staff and students to the Patriot Academy and were deemed honorary residents of Jefferson County by Jefferson County Mayor Alan Palmieri.
