PUBLIC NOTICE – TO ALL DEVELOPERS, UTILITY, PAVING & TRUCKING COMPANIES WORKING IN JEFFERSON COUNTY

PUBLIC NOTICE

This notice is to advise all developers, paving/trucking and utility companies using roads in Jefferson County that we are concerned about the safety and condition of our roads. When hauling trucks use our county roads causing damage, repair costs can create a huge expense.

It is not our intent to interfere with your business; however, constant use from heavy trucks that result in damage to our roads will make you liable for needed repairs at your expense. Any utility company doing work on county roads are required to notify us before digging on the right-of-way.

You are required to contact the Jefferson County Highway Superintendent, Charles H. Tipton at 865-397-2155 when using county roads as a haul road.
