Mary Burton’s: You’re Not Safe

A Must Read 300While Jake is away this week, I have been given the pleasure of sharing a recently published book that I really enjoyed. Mary Burton is one of my favorite authors and she has met the high bar that she set with her previous books, with her new romantic thriller You’re Not Safe. Though Burton’s latest books are not a true series, they share a commonality of characters and I really enjoy that continuity. Before I am even through the first few pages, I already feel a sense of connection to the characters and that keeps the pages turning. Like her other offerings, Burton is more thriller than romance and I find it refreshing that the relationship component compliments the story instead of driving the story line. A good thriller should, at its core, thrill and this book certainly provides the spine tingling creepy feeling that readers of psychological thriller covet.

You’re Not Safe just came out in paperback at the end of March and it has proven to be an engaging read. Because Burton’s books are not a series, readers can choose this as their very first Mary Burton book. I would suggest also picking up a copy of The Seventh Victim, as well as No Escape. All three books stand on their own but as a group they are a summer set that will keep readers up at night. You’re Not Safe is available in paperback, so the investment is minimal. I believe that Mary Burton is an author that a reader can’t go wrong picking up and You’re Not Safe is certainly up to her previous standards, making it a thriller that simply shouldn’t be missed.
