Jefferson City Public Library Summer Reading Program Starting June 6, 2014

Jefferson City Public Library’s (1427 Russell Avenue, Jefferson City, TN 37760), Fizz, Boom Read Summer Reading Program 2014 will be on Friday’s at 2:00 starting June 6th. The program will run until July 25th . The theme this year is all about science and energy. Every age group invited. Parents, Grandparent, and children will be encourage to participate in the reading program. You may pre-register at jeffcountylibraries.org.

Special guest for the month of June is:

June 6: The American Museum of Science and Energy. Two teachers will be on hand to work with our children and adults. Guaranteed to be exciting.

June 13: Papa John Welton. There will be magic in the air. He will be doing magic tricks.

June 20: Barry Mitchell’s BOOMtastic Show. He will be Putting the FIZZ & Boom in your summer reading! A must see program!

June 27: The Pedal Power program uses a bicycle-powered generator to power lights and various appliances. Lesson plans and activities include energy generation, conservation, renewable energy and capacitors. Voltage and current meters on the display board allow members to calculate the power (in watts) needed to operate the various appliances. This program also offers a great demonstration on the difference between incandescent light bulbs and the energy saving CFL bulbs.
