Freeman Adds to Postseason Track Laurels with Academic All-District Honor

Carson-Newman track and field junior thrower Randall Freeman (Ooltewah, Tenn.) has tallied a CoSIDA Academic All-District accolade to his athletic and academic resumes.

Freeman was an all-region performer in the shot put and javelin in addition to holding a 3.8 GPA as a graphic design major.  Freeman finished fifth in the region for both the shot put and the javelin to earn all-region honors with hurls of 14.07 meters for the shot and 46.48 meters for the javelin.  Freeman hit both marks at the South Atlantic Conference Championship meet.

His throw in the shot was good enough for a second place finish at the meet.

He is a member of the dean’s list and the SAC Commissioner’s Honor Roll.
