Jefferson City Fire Department’s Kid’s Fire Camp, June 18 – 20 and July 16 – 18, 2014

The Jefferson City Fire Department will hold two sessions of its popular annual Kid’s Fire Camp. The first session will run from June 18 – 20 and the second session from July 16 – 18 at the fire station located at 104 City Center Drive. This exciting three day camp is structured like a real fire academy, designed to teach boys and girls ages 8 to 13 about being a real life firefighter. Participants will gain hands-on experience using real firefighting tools, including attack and supply hose, ropes and ladders. Students will also learn skills needed to make rescues, perform CPR and basic first aid, as well as complete fire prevention planning and other emergency themed activities. The class is free of charge, and is held from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the fire station. Applications for the camp can be picked up at the Fire Department or contact the Department at (865) 475-3616 to reserve a spot.
