Pemberton Wins Knoxville Area Women’s Championship

Carson-Newman women’s golfer Kelli Pemberton (Knoxville, Tenn.) won her hometown’s area women’s championship in a match play event over the weekend. 

Pemberton, a rising junior, defeated Carolyn Singer 3 & 1, Robin Banner 2 & 1, and Carolyn Gilliam 2 & 1 to win it.

“It means a lot to me,” Pemberton said. “I’ve had a lot of support and it’s nice to see all of that and my hard work pay off.”

Both Pemberton and Meridith Hawkin’s are competing this week at the Tennessee Women’s Amateur at Cherokee Country Club.
