Marcus Reed has announced his candidacy for County Commissioner for the 10th District. Reed retired as the Director of Jefferson County E911 in 2013 after serving the citizens of the County for almost eight years. He was instrumental in the design and construction of the County’s Emergency Services Center which was constructed under budget.

Marcus has achieved great success in both government service and private business. Through determination and hard work he achieved the rank of Lieutenant Colonel of Marines and received many prestigious awards. Marcus was the Assistant Director of Operations/Quality Control Officer for a remediation company and was responsible for preparing budgets, personnel requirements, health and safety plans which resulted in acquiring multi-million dollar contracts with the Army Corps of engineers.

Through proven leadership and with a wealth of knowledge gained through managing the Marine Corps largest Ammunition Supply Point, chairing the Department of Defense Joint Service Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technical Acceptance Training Board, Vice-Chairman/Secretary of the Jefferson City Planning Commission, and dealing with 911 budgeting issues with the County Commission he is capable of filling the important position of a Commissioner.

Marcus believes every person in local government office has a moral obligation to lead, mentor, and serve the County citizens. He strongly believes there is no room in County politics for self-Serving desires. He humbly asks for your vote to serve as your District10 County Commissioner.
