Simple Prevention Steps for Skincare Problems

Swimming and floating in the pool is great fun and healthy exercise, but it can play havoc with one’s skin. Chlorine is very harmful for the skin if not washed off with soap. It causes very crusty dryness and irritation, so a quick shower with just warm water will not be enough, remember the soapy suds.

Dirty sunglasses can cause rashes and acne-type lesions on the side of the face and down the jaw line. Clean sunglasses once a day with alcohol: a quick swipe with a cotton pad soaked in alcohol does the job.

Leaving makeup on during the night is a definite no-no. This causes clogged pores which can lead to ugly blemishes and aging because the skin is not able to “breathe” enough to be healthy. Believe me, I know the urge to just fall into bed without taking off makeup after a late night party or event. I solved this problem by keeping Micellar Water on the bedside table with cotton pads on the drawer. It is so easy to just spray a bit of the miracle cleanser on the pad after getting into bed and swipe the makeup off in a flash. Also, makeup left on the pillowcase may create bacteria that can make you sick.

Really hot showers can be so relaxing, but cause the skin to cringe with dryness that can lead to wrinkled, sagging skin. Try to keep the water at a medium temperature for youthful-looking skin.

These seem to be such simple suggestions, but they can prevent so many negative skincare problems. Remember, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!
