The Birkin Bang

Darlings, when designer Heidi Slimane sent his cast of models down the Saint Laurant Fall 2014 runway with a bit of nostalgia from the ’70s, a hot trend ignited into a flaming fashion for hair styling. Perhaps some of you will remember the Anglo-French singer Jane Birkin. Her eye-glazing choppy fringe bangs went viral world wide in the ’70s.

Immediately after the chic Paris runway show, celebrities and society mavens rushed to the salons for the choppy child-like cut known as the Birkin Bang. Actually, the style of the bangs looks as if one chopped the bangs without a stylist. But my advice is do not try this without a professional stylist – though the look seems so simple there is an art to the style.

Dakota Johnson showed up at the Chanel fashion show with the choppy Birkin Bang, looking absolutely darling in the raging style. Jessica Chastain, was lovely on the Italian island of Ischia. Her Birkin Bangs were given an Old Hollywood look with long glossy waves. Caroline de Maipet, a perfect example of French fashion, wore her choppy fringe bangs with stick straight hair. Joan Small, Emma Stone, and a bevy of other beauties are wearing the Birkin Bang.

So, my darling fashionistas, be in Vogue and try the fall/winter season of those in the world class of fashion: the Birkin Bang. Ir really is an adorable style for all types of face shapes. I am getting my bangs even choppier – yes , I love the Birkin Bang!

As has been said many times, everything that is old is, indeed, new again!
