Do County Offices Close on Election Day?

I came to town on Election Day and was surprised to find that County buildings were not open. Is this the policy on all Election Days?

It has been my experience that County Government offices are closed on Election Day to allow government employees the opportunity to vote. This was especially important before early voting was so accessible. The County does list office closing on its’ website under the calendar and on the front page to allow citizens to make arrangements if necessary.
