Sevier Area Blood Drives August 16 – 21, 2014

As the sole provider of blood for 22 counties and 28 area hospitals, Medic Regional Blood Center depends on volunteer donors to help save lives in the community.    “The blood collected by Medic stays in the area to help family, friends, neighbors and co-workers, “ explains Mike Prowell, Director of Business Development.   Medic currently has a need for all blood types, including the most common types of O Positive and A Positive.   

Donors are always welcome at one of the two donor centers: 1601 Ailor Avenue or 11000 Kingston Pike in Farragut.    Community for  drives are also planned. 

– August 16, Tennessee Smokies Stadium, 4pm – 9pm, Bloodmobile. *All donors will receive a free admission ticket.

– August 19, Kroger Seymour, 10721 Chapman Hwy, 12pm – 7pm, Bloodmobile.

– August 21, LeConteMedicalCenter, 742 Middlecreek Rd, 12pm – 7pm, Inside Classroom.

Donors must be 17 years of age, weigh 110 pounds or more (16 year olds weighing 120 pounds or more can donate but must have parental consent) and all new donors must have positive identification.
