A group of local farmers were recognized at the Jefferson County Fair on opening night. These farmers represented farms that have been in operation in Jefferson County, as well as Hamblen and Grainger Counties, for more than 100 years. Criteria included that a member or descendant of the original family still operate the farm and that it maintains a minimum acreage and is still a producing farm.

Century Farms from Jefferson County were the Blackburn Farm, circa 1852, represented by Celeste and Albert Blackburn. Johnny O. Webb and Teresa Gentry were on hand for the Ellison-Webb Farm circa 1907. Fairview Farm, circa 1894, was represented by Mary E. Musick and Bruce Frazier received the plaque for Frazier Farm circa 1834. The Oak Thicket Farm, represented by Ralph Caldwell, was the oldest established farm with a circa of 1792. Carolyn Vineyard represented S/V Big Bend Farm circa 1905. The Warham Easley Farm, established in 1901, was represented by Mark, Porter and Simmie Cameron. Trula Thomas, representing the Wine Farm, circa 1874, rounded out the Century Farms from Jefferson County. .

Five farms in Hamblen County and four in Grainger County also met the hundred year mark. In Hamblen County the Davie Haun Farm (1900), the Jarrell Haun Farm (1818), the Sandy-Delle Farm (1856), Shady Oaks (1860) and Wright Farm (1872) received recognition. In Grainger County, Bend of The Creek Farm (1812), Big Maple Dairy Farm (1868), Daniel Farm in Narrow Valley Community (1905), and Roach Farm (1897) were the Century Farm award recipients.
