Freezing Homemade Pies for Family Occasions

I have just found out that I am cooking Thanksgiving dinner this year. I know that it is a little early to be worried about it but it is a big undertaking for me. I would like to make my pies well in advance of the day, since I am not that great a baker, and freeze them. Do you have any idea if you can actually freeze homemade pies and if they will turn out well if you do?

I understand your panic at cooking a large family meal. Some experts suggest that pies can be frozen up to a few days ahead of time and not loose any flavor. More than that, and the taste can be altered slightly. The problem that you may find, if you are not a great baker, is that the pies must be cooked thoroughly, while not being burned. I suggest at least doing a trial run before the day so that you are not the hostess who ruined the pumpkin pie.
