The Jefferson County Volleyball team improved to 2-0 on this young season with its second shutout of 3-0 over perennial power Morristown East. The first of the 3-0 victories came Tuesday night over rival , Sevier County.

“There are no words to tell you how excited I am.” Head Coach Salem Odham expressed. Jefferson County would win the contest by scores of 25-20,25-13, and 25-23. Morristown East would challenge the Lady Patriots in game 3 pushing them to the brink of a game 4 before the Lady Patriots would eventually win the game. “Regardless of the outcome, whether its win or lose, they came out to show what they can do and they did.” Odham added “So win or lose if they do that, I’m happy.”

Statistic leaders for the Lady Patriots were, Abby Bateman with 33 assists on the evening, Abby Tomokosky had 8 digs, while Julia Codospoti dominated the front line with 7 blocks. Jefferson County returns to action Monday, at Grainger County High School JV at 4:30 with the Varsity to follow.
