Jefferson County officials elected in the August race took the oath of office on September 2, 2014 at the Historic Jefferson County Courthouse. Daryle Keck, acting Director of the Chamber of Commerce, gave the opening statements, as well as the prayer and pledge of allegiance.

Following brief addresses by current officials, Judge Duane Slone swore in Chancellor Forgety, who then administered the oath to Sloan. Judge Sloan gave the Oath of Office to the remaining elected officials. The office of Circuit Court Judge, General Sessions Judge, Mayor, Sheriff, County Clerk, Trustee, Register of Deeds, Circuit Court Clerk, County Commission, School Board, Sheriff Deputies and Highway Commissioners were all installed in the early morning ceremony.

In addition to comments by Daryle Keck, Judge Slone, Chancellor Forgety and Mayor Palmieri also addressed officials and the audience during the ceremony. Closing remarks were made by Keck.
