Is There a Way to Get Rid of Gnats?

I really dislike gnats and seem to be unable to get rid of them. I think that it is even worse this year. Do you have any suggestions?

Gnats are annoying but they can be controlled with some simple household items and a little time. Two non toxic tricks are to put a little dish soap in a wine glass with a little wine in it also. If you do not have wine handy, fill a mason jar with apple cider vinegar and punch small holes in the lid, the gnats fly in and cannot leave. Pouring a little veggie or olive oil in the sink around the drain will help get rid of those that are attracted to the sink and a liberal dose of ammonia can kill the eggs down the drain. Use caution and be sure that any chemical is fully washed away before using again.
