Tusculum looked to be in position to tie the match up at 1-1 by holding a 24-20 lead late in the second set. However, KU fought-off four set-points, and took a 25-24 lead. A king service error tied the match at 25, and Tusculum took a 26-25 lead on an attack error by Kremer.

The Tornado’s Casey Williams registered a kill to re-tie the match once more, this time at 26-26, and an attack error by Garnett gave King a 27-26 lead, and set-point. A setting error by Berling ended the set, and gave KU an improbable 28-26 victory in game two, and a 2-0 lead in the match.

King never trailed in the third set, and due in part to a pair of 4-0 runs, completed the 3-0 sweep with a 25-17 victory in the third set.
