Dandridge Holds Special Called Meeting

The Town of Dandridge Board of Mayor and Alderman met in a special called session on September 25, 2014 at 6:30.

Present: Mayor Gantte, Aldermen Farrar, Jones, Kesterson, Thornhill

Absent: Aldermen Chambers, Nelson

Three items were available for action on the agenda.

1. Vote on architect to develop waterfront property. Thompson Architect was selected and approved (unanimously).

2. Bid on paving road in front of Court House to Cherokee Drive. Approved (unanimously) contract with Newport Paving with added cap of $180,000. Newport Paving originally gave an estimate of $116,000 but other considerations arose. They now believe it can be done for between $118,000 and $122,000 but BOMA wanted to include the cap.

3. Vote on a memorandum of understanding with Jefferson Cock County to share the expense of paving the section of road from Court House to Cherokee Drive. The agreement included a percentage of payment based on utility construction (41% Jefferson Cock Gas and 59% Dandridge City). Memorandum approved unanimously.

Construction should be completed mid-October with State completion November 8.

 

The Town of Dandridge Tennessee Board of Zoning Appeals met in a regular session on September 25, 2014 at 7:00. There were 2 items on the agenda.

Present: Mayor Gantte, Alderman Jones, Chairman Swann, Commissioners Elder, Entwistle, Franklin, Reneau

Absent: Commissioners Hasty, Whillock

1. JFK Development/Hayes (Neon Service Company) 1020 Hwy. 92. Request additional 9.69 sq. ft. on sign in order to use standard Lettering. It was discussed that the sign was actually standalone lettering on the building and would be in code without a variance.

2. Ray R. Riffle Hwy. 92 requested interpretation of permitted use (auto sales) in B3. During discussion and review of zoning regulations it was found to have wording that included new auto sales. B2 included all auto sales. It was moved and unanimously approved to review code 0304-23 more closely for intent and revisit in October meeting.

 

The Town of Dandridge Tennessee Regional Planning Commission met in a regular session on September 25, 2014 immediately following BZA. There was 1 item on the agenda.

Absent: Commissioners Hasty, Whillock

1. Discussion of Traffic Impact Analysis, Requested documents be presented in October meeting for discussion and/or approval.
