Boots, Boots, Boots

Darlings, it is time to bring out the boots! Boots just happen to be a great fashion favorite for me. All styles from the over-the-knee boot to the flat-heel riding boot are favorites of mine, and all in wonderful shades of luscious leather.

Scanning the fashion scene this fall for boots, I discovered a treasure chest’s worth of selection for every budget and fashionista delight. Jimmy Choo designed a sophisticated pointy-toe style bootie, a great fashion and a bit pricy, but worth every penny. Well-made designer boots are an investment. In time the investment pays off because the boot is made of the best leather, velvet, fur, or most realistic faux fur, making them last for years. To keep them in good shape, have the wear and tear of scuffs and salt repaired each year.

I love to wear après ski boots with leggings. This combination creates a very sleek style and makes the legs look longer. Short skirts are just made for over the knee boots, and the flat-heel riding boot is a classic to wear with almost every length of skirt or pants. The ankle boot is very fashionista with dresses, and gives a classic look with slim pants.

Old Navy has a classic low-heel riding boot for a dream of a price for such quality: this was the best boot I discovered for 49.00 dollars!

Other fashion delights from these last few weekends include a wedding and a birthday celebration. The wedding was the stuff of which dreams are made. A vision of white in a duchess satin mermaid gown with a shoulder-length Vera Wang tulle veil as the beautiful bride walked toward her groom. It was so evident the groom is madly in love, as his eyes told the story when she walked down the aisle.

The birthday celebration was pure delight as the hostess has that special flair of making all guests feel so comfortable. I remember a movie about a man planning a swanky party in Manhattan, and, of course, every facet had to be perfect: the floors polished, the best linen, the best food, etc., but the most important ingredient was missing. The special charm to make all guest feel comfortable was nowhere to be found.

The attire was casual and the hostess was relaxed in designer Capri denim jeans teamed with a trendy green color top. Delicious food was served on darling plates of Norman Rockwell print plates . Yes, come to think of it, the event was like a Norman Rockwell painting.
