Keck Out – Strand In, For Now

The Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce announced that interim Director Daryle Keck has accepted a position in banking in Knoxville and will be exiting the Chamber. Retired Judge Ben Strand will hold the position of Chamber Director until a permanent replacement is announced. The Search Committee has narrowed the pool of potential candidates down to three and will be conducting interviews around mid month, in anticipation of having a new Director named prior to December 1, 2014. Members of the Search Committee include Conard Frye of Appalachian Electric, Max Fultz of Bush Brothers, Trevor Hodgson of Overman, Inc, Dr. Kina Mallard of Carson-Newman University and Jefferson County Mayor Alan Palmieri. According to Keck, his last day will be Tuesday, October 7, 2014. Keck and Strand will work together to assimilate Strand to the daily operations until Keck’s departure, when Strand will temporarily take the reins of the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce.
