The annual Jefferson City Christmas Parade came to the city on Saturday afternoon amid a bevy of folks gathered to welcome Christmas to Mossy Creek. Marchers and floats, fire trucks and the bedazzled greeted the crowd that waited patiently along the parade route to wave to their friends and neighbors. Excited children gathered candy, as it was tossed into the streets in the old downtown area. Chilly weather added to the seasonal feel and the crowd patiently awaited the arrival of the man of the hour. They were not disappointed, as Santa took a quick break from his activities at the North Pole to give a smile and wave to the Jefferson City community. The annual Christmas Parade is a highly anticipated event that is just one of many activities that ring in the Christmas season in Jefferson County.
