Fraternal Order Of Police Lodge 61 Helps Spread Christmas Cheer

FOP Shop With A Cop 1b 12192014The Fraternal Order of Police spread a little Christmas cheer and made some whishes come true on Friday afternoon, December 19, 2014. Around 20 local children, some as young as one year old, were the recipients of the generosity of the Fraternal Order of Police. An annual tradition, the local police organization escort the children to Wal-Mart where they shop with an officer for needed and wished for items on their Christmas list. The Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 61 has members from various law enforcement branches in Jefferson County and the group has had a longtime commitment to helping economically challenged families have a bright Christmas. The largest organization of sworn law enforcement officers, The Fraternal Order of Police have more than 325,000 members nationally and more than 10,000 members in Tennessee. Dedicated to the safety of the community and providing education regarding law enforcement, as well as improving working conditions, helping children in need have a great Christmas is one of the member’s favorite outreach activities.
