Rep. Farmer Releases 2015 Legislative Survey

State Representative Andrew Farmer has released an online survey to gain input from 17th House District residents on several bills that have been prefiled for the 109th General Assembly. Rep. Farmer is seeking feedback from his constituents on bills and issues that will be at the forefront of the 109th General Assembly in 2015.

Issues covered in the online 2015 Legislative Survey include:

  • Adjustments to the state’s fuel tax to use for road infrastructure (no bill prefiled)
  • Expansion of Medicaid in Tennessee, such as Gov. Haslam’s Insure Tennessee, Volunteer Plan, etc. (no bill prefiled)
  • Implementation of Common Core State Standards in Tennessee public schools (continued from 108th)
  • Lowering the state’s portion of the sales tax from 7% to 6.75% on tangible personal property (HB0001)
  • High school seniors being required to pass the same civics exam for graduation taken by U.S. immigrants for citizenship (HB0010)
  • Elimination of the Hall Income Tax, a 6% tax on investment income. (SB0002)
