A Plethora of Fashion Choices!

Hello darlings, so much is happening on the fashion front that one can hardly keep up with new looks!  Let’s start with the new shorter, cropped pant. To tell the truth, this is not a favorite of mine, as one must match the type of pant carefully with one’s body type.  The cropped pant can be a disaster if not chosen carefully.  A cropped full boot cut type can be a plus for a tall, slender person, but totally out of line for a short, full-figure girl,  Another style is much like a harem pant, with full pleats at the front and graduating into a slim bottom: not for the tummy conscious. A flat tummy is perfect for this fashion and can be very dramatic.  The jean-style cropped type is the best choice for all figure types.  This style was popular in the 70’s.  Think of culottes or gaucho full-cropped style worn with boots, making a more slender line. The harem style is best worn with heels or sandals. Of course, the cropped jeans fashion is great with almost type of shoes.

One newcomer to the fashion arena is a great favorite of mine: a romper with a flowing fish tail skirt attached. It is so feminine and dramatic. Also, this style has the casual appeal of the Bohemian style that is sweeping the designer catwalk. Valentino introduced this style for very formal wear, with full-flowing skirts with long sleeves and a very wide belt.  This is such a poetic style and I am sure it will be copied in every price range.  Bring out the ultra wide belts, girls! Simply cinch your waist and an instant fashionista is created.

Most of the major designers introduced a Victorian style with a wide-cinched waist, a touch of the mutton sleeve, and an A-line skirt.  Lace-adorned, almost Victorian, fashion at its finest. Speaking of which, lace is another must-have for the current trends.  Lace is a favorite of mine, so lady-like but enchanting at the same time.

Well darlings, there’s lots of new styles to try out, so change is in the air for all fashionistas.  My advice is to just add a few of these trends and always keep the classic in mind!
