Mary Ball Receives Compost For SEED Project

In December, Tractor Supply of Jefferson County selected Mary Ball’s entry in their online photo contest to win a gift card.   “Miss Mary” picked up the “Compost Bag” she decided to purchase for use at the Boys and Girls Club of Jefferson City. She also invited store manager Mike Bleier to partner with the Jefferson County Health Council’s SEED Project.
Mary explained that, “The SEED Project promotes raised-bed edible gardens and was launched 3 years ago using a grant from TN Ag in the Classroom.  This year, we have a chance to get mini-grants from Ag in the Classroom for each

school interested in edible gardening.”If asked how Tractor Supply and its customers in the county can help in the SEED Project in schools, Mary has an immediate answer , “By volunteering to mentor the kids and teachers at a local schools and by sharing your own story.”
