Winter Wonderland… Not!

What a week of weather. I specifically asked for snow… not ice. Well, we have seen ice, sleet, and snow in every form, and now I would like for it to just go away. Rarely, do we see snowy or icy conditions that linger on and on, but this week… that is just what happened and I am not happy. This is what I call “staying in weather”, and I can only take so much before I go nutty.

Looking out, I see no winter wonderland, as I always expect to see when snow covers the ground. Instead, I see ice and icicles covering everything. Huge icicles hang from my roof, from trees and shrubs and anything that stands in the outside world. It is as though we have entered the movie set of “Frozen” and can’t escape.

My car has no garage to protect it from the elements, and ice is no exception. It sits in my driveway with layer after layer of ice, so thick it looks bonded to the ground. My driveway looks equally ice packed. Treacherousis a word that comes to mind. My dog says that he has had enough of this ice, as he hurries out to do his business, and quickly rushes back indoors. No, this was not what I had in mind when I asked for snow last week. I wanted a wonderland and got an ice palace, just what memories are made of.
