Do Out of State Children Need Fishing Licenses?

Asked AnsweredMy grandsons are coming in to visit us for Spring Break and we are planning to take them fishing. I know that children that live in Tennessee are not required to have a fishing license but I was wondering if that extends to out of state children, as well?

According to Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency, children under the age of 13 do not need a fishing license, regardless of if they are in state or visitors. Also resident grand children and great grandchildren under the age of 16 can fish on their grandparent’s farmland without a license. Otherwise, unless it is free fishing week ( for those under 15) then a license is required.
