Have We Seen the Last Cold Snap?

Asked AnsweredWas this latest cold spurt blackberry Winter and are we finally finished with the “Winter” cold snaps?

While it is common in East Tennessee and the South in general to assign names to cold periods that occur after Spring has begun, there is not really anyway to determine if this is blackberry Winter or another of the folksy cold periods. Usually, blackberry Winter is considered to the the cold period that happens when the blackberries are blooming. It also generally is considered to occur in May. I believe that many will assume that this was blackberry Winter. That is, unless, another cold period hits before June.
