Jefferson County made a two day celebration of Independence Day, kicking off the festivities by Shakin’ the Lake in Dandridge. The annual event drew a crowd on both sides of Douglas Lake, as the Point Marina hosted the firework display on Friday evening. Saturday, the holiday proper, saw parades on both land and water, with both Jefferson City and White pine taking to the streets, while Dandridge held a boat parade, all before the skies across Jefferson County once again lit up with a multitude of businesses and individuals’ offering a pyrotechnic salute to the birth of the nation.
