Jefferson County Couple Charged with Theft

An investigation by Special Agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has resulted in the indictment of a Jefferson City attorney and his wife, who are each charged with theft.

At the request of 4th District Attorney General James Dunn, TBI Special Agents began investigating Carl Robert Ogle on April 10, 2014. The investigation revealed that on October 31, 2013, Ogle told the victim that the money she was entitled to from the closure of an estate was gone. The investigation determined that Ogle’s wife, Tameline, also had access to that escrow account. Carl Ogle has since been disbarred by the Board of Professional Responsibility from the practice of law.

On August 24th, the Jefferson County Grand Jury returned indictments charging Carl Ogle, 68, with one count of Theft over $60,000 and Tameline Ogle, 63, with one count of Theft over $60,000. The Ogles were arrested today and booked into the Jefferson County Jail, where bond was set for each at $10,000.
