The Staff of the White Pine Public Library gave a reception Wednesday, September 02, 2015 at 3:30, to honor and thank The White Pine Friends of the Library for participating with The Pilcrow Foundation to receive a Children’s Book Grant.

As a part of The Pilcrow Foundation’s Children’s Book Project, for every book purchased by The Friends of the Library, the Foundation gave two additional books, for a total of 68 books. The books are all chosen from a list of books that have been reviewed by Horn Book, School Library Journal, or other professional agencies to include award-winning titles and newly reissued books.

An additional 22 books were given by a generous donation from Hal Berenson and Laura Ackerman, supporters of The Pilcrow Foundation.

In all White Pine Public Library received 90 children’s books, fiction and non-fiction.

The Library thanks the Friends for their generous support of grants for children, Summer Reading Programs for Children, Teens, and Adults, along with furnishings, equipment, and materials for the Library.
