Halloween Sensory Bags

Growing YearsIt is time for an activity and Halloween is a good time to make sensory bags. All ages will enjoy squishing the bags. Older children can make them, adding their own touches. These are great for fine motor development and hand-eye coordination.

Witch Sensory Bag:

– zip-lock bag

– bottle of clear hair gel

– 2 squishy eye balls

– a few black yarn strips for the hair

– red yarn strip for the mouth

– a witch rubber finger for the nose (or cut off finger of rubber glove)

– small felt witch hat

– green food coloring

Fill the zip-lock bag with the hair gel.  Add a couple drops of food coloring and mix well by squishing the bag.  Then add all the witch parts. Seal the bag with clear packaging tape.

Squish all the parts around to form the witches face. Squish the bag to remix the parts and make a new face.

Goblin Guts Sensory Bag

– zip-lock bag

– bottle of clear hair gel

– cut lengths of white string (about the size of spaghetti pasta)

– green food coloring

– things a goblin might have in his guts (eye balls, spiders, snakes, bugs)

– clear packaging tape

Fill the zip-lock bag with the hair gel.  Add a couple drops of food coloring and mix well by squishing the bag.  Add the string and items your goblin will have in his gut. Seal the bag with clear packaging tape.
