Appalachian Electric Cooperative is still looking good as it celebrated its 75 annual membership meeting on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at the Smoky Mountain Expo Center in White Pine. Not only were attendees treated to lunch and fun activities that included a kid’s zone, they also received a $20 credit on their electric bill just for coming out to enjoy the morning with the folks from Appalachian Electric. Since 1940, Appalachian Electric has been keeping the lights burning bright in Jefferson County and beyond. The Cooperative also puts focus on being a strong community partner with their Concern for Community initiative. Saturday’s event provided the opportunity for members to keep in touch with the progress and interests of Appalachian Electric and Appalachian Electric the chance to keep in touch with their members in an enjoyable environment, as they all celebrated the success of 75 years strong and counting!
