Jefferson County Clerk’s Office Partners with TDOT for Yellow Dot Program

The Jefferson County Clerk’s Office is happy to announce a partnership with the Tennessee Department of Transportation to offer an enrollment site in Jefferson County for the Yellow Dot Program. The Yellow Dot Program began in 2014 and is designed to supply first responders with an individual’s medical information in the event of an emergency. The County Clerk’s Office can assist customers in filling out a medical information form which will be placed in a yellow folder and kept in the glove box of the vehicle. Participants in the Yellow Dot Program will also receive a Yellow Dot decal to place on the left side of the rear window of the vehicle to alert first responders of the driver’s participation in the Yellow Dot program. There is no charge to participate in the Yellow Dot program.

While TDOT’s target population is drivers 55 and older, anyone is eligible to enroll in the program. One should bring a recent color photograph for identification purposes; however, if the enrollee does not have a photo, one may be obtained at the clerk’s office. The Clerk’s Office is available to help with enrollment during regular business hours Monday-Friday 8:00 A.M.-4:30 P.M. and Saturday 8:00 A.M.-11:00 A.M. Currently, the County Clerk’s Office is the only enrollment site in Jefferson County.
