Saucy Hot Ham and Cheese Sliders

recipe-entreeI’ve eaten these sliders before, but never made them myself until this weekend. My daughter was attending the end of season soccer party, and I needed a good finger food for the girls. This recipe was perfect! I came home with an empty pan, which meant they loved them. This will definitely be my go-to sandwich for parties for some time to come. (Note: This recipe is easily halved if feeding a smaller group.)

Ingredients:

2 packages Hawaiian sweet rolls

20-24 oz thin sliced black forest ham

8-10 thick cheddar cheese slices

10 T butter

2 T brown sugar

2 t Worcestershire sauce

1 t onion powder

½ t salt

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350˚F.

Keeping rolls intact, slice each package lengthwise so there is one big top bun and one big bottom bun. Lay bottom halves in 9 x 13” baking pan. (My pan was slightly larger at about 9.5 x 13.5” and two packages of rolls fit perfectly.) Layer ham and then cheese on top of bottom half. Top with other half of rolls.

To make the sauce, place butter, brown sugar, Worcestershire, onion powder and salt in microwave safe bowl. Heat until butter is melted. Whisk to combine.

Pour butter sauce over top of rolls and spread around evenly.

Cover pan with foil and bake for 15 minutes. Take foil off and bake another 5 minutes until tops are slightly toasted. Remove from oven. While still in the pan, cut into individual sliders. Serve warm in pan or remove to platter.
