Christmas cheer was in the air Saturday as downtown Dandridge hosted “Merriment on Main Street.” Whether it was enjoying the great food provided by The Patty Wagon, or helping children write their letters to Santa, a good time was easy to find at the downtown to-do. Santa wasn’t the only Christmas icon getting some attention, though. Olaf the snowman and the Grinch made an appearance as well, showing just how much people of all walks of life love the Christmas season. Many businesses in the area had giveaways, and stopping by your local shops was a great way to get in out of the cold. Those walking the streets could stop by and enjoy some fantastic music by Appalachian Tradition, Marty Mills, Kaylee Kesterson, Trevor Roberts, and Tracy Cochran. Whether you were tapping your foot to some Christmas tunes, shopping in your local stores, or making sure Santa had a heads up on your wishlist, Merriment on Main Street gave downtown Dandridge something to smile about on a cold Saturday afternoon as Christmas approaches.
