Jefferson County Historical Society Winter Meeting, January 21, 2016

The Jefferson County Historical Society will hold their Winter meeting on Thursday, January 21 at 6:30 p.m. in the main courtroom of the Jefferson County Courthouse in downtown Dandridge. The speaker, Jo Koehler of Dandridge, will present her story of quilts and how they were used in the network of the Underground Railroad. Quilts were a vital communication link for escaped slaves and those who would give them help on their journey north. All interested persons are cordially invited to attend this program.
