Public Service Committee Elects Officers

The Jefferson County Public Service Committee met Monday night for their first meeting since June 2013. The meeting opened with a review of the minutes from the April and June 2013 meetings, which were accepted in a motion by Turner (2nd Seals). Next on the agenda was the appointing of officers. Seal was elected as chairman (nominated by Seals), Turner was elected as vice-chairman (nominated by Carmichael), and Carmichael was elected as the committee’s secretary (nominated by Seals). All three positions were elected by acclamation.

Following the elections, the committee briefly reviewed old business, including the previous failure of the dirty lot recommendation. The commissioners serving on the Public Service Committee include: Jimmy Carmichael, Terry Dockery, David Seal, Tim Seals, and Russell Turner.
